PURCHASE CENTRES:
The
Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs along with
other state procuring agencies and FCI have set up infrastructure to
provide minimum support price for food grains in the immediate post
harvest season. The entire state is covered by well regulated mandis
/ purchase centers where farmers bring their crops. These have been
so located that a farmer does not have to travel more than 5-8 Kms.
to market their produce.
